Liability and Insurance
At 1st Choice Moving LV, we take great care in handling your belongings. However, we understand that accidents may happen, and it’s important to clarify both our liability and the insurance options available to you during your move.
Company Liability
We are committed to safely transporting your belongings, but there are limitations to our liability. 1st Choice Moving LV is responsible for any damage or loss that occurs during the moving process only if it is caused by our negligence or failure to meet industry standards. Our liability is subject to the following conditions:
- Standard Liability: This applies if your goods are damaged during the moving process due to mishandling by our team. We will cover the cost of repair or replacement up to the value of the item or its market value.
- Exclusions: We are not liable for damage to items that were improperly packed by the client or items that are excluded under the Prohibited Items section (e.g., hazardous materials or perishables).
Insurance Options
To provide additional peace of mind, we offer various insurance options that can cover your items in case of damage or loss. These options are available for purchase before the move:
- Basic Coverage: This coverage provides limited protection for your items during transit. It covers the actual cash value (ACV) of items that are damaged or lost due to moving.
- Full Value Protection: This is a more comprehensive insurance option that guarantees full replacement value for any items that are lost, stolen, or damaged during the move. This is recommended for high-value or fragile items.
- Third-Party Insurance: If you have personal insurance or prefer a third-party insurance provider, you may use your own coverage for the move. Please provide us with proof of coverage before the move.
Exclusions from Liability
While we strive to provide the best care for your belongings, there are certain items and circumstances that are not covered by our liability:
- Client-Packed Items: We are not responsible for damage to items that the client has packed themselves unless the damage occurs during loading or unloading.
- Prohibited Items: We are not responsible for the transportation or loss of any prohibited items, including hazardous materials, perishables, or illegal substances.
- Natural Disasters or Force Majeure: In cases of unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, natural disasters, or other external factors, we will not be held liable for delays or damages.

We strive to provide accurate delivery windows for all moves. Our general timeframes for delivery are as follows:

Delays and Rescheduling
While we make every effort to adhere to the scheduled timeline, some delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. These could include, but are not limited to:
- Traffic or Road Conditions: Unpredictable conditions such as construction, accidents, or weather-related issues.
- Inclement Weather: Adverse weather conditions may cause delays, particularly for long-distance moves.
- Unexpected Issues with the Delivery Location: Difficulty accessing your new home or office, such as lack of parking or restricted entry, can delay the delivery process.
If delays are anticipated, we will notify you as soon as possible and provide a revised delivery time.
Client’s Role in Delivery Timeliness
To ensure your delivery is completed on time, your responsibilities include:
- Availability: You must be available to receive your items at the scheduled delivery address. This includes ensuring that someone is present to accept the delivery, check for damages, and sign off on the move.
- Accessibility: Ensure that your new location is accessible for the moving truck. This includes providing information about any access issues (e.g., narrow streets, gate codes) that could delay delivery.
- Clear Communication: If any delays are expected on your end (e.g., late arrival to the delivery address), please inform us ahead of time so we can adjust the delivery schedule accordingly.
Rescheduling Delivery
If you are unable to be present for the scheduled delivery or need to delay the delivery for any reason, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Rescheduling fees may apply depending on the circumstances and the timing of the request.

At 1st Choice Moving LV, we aim to provide timely and reliable moving services. However, certain unforeseen events, known as “force majeure,” may impact our ability to perform as agreed. This section outlines how these circumstances are handled and the steps we take to address them.
What is Force Majeure?
A force majeure refers to an event or circumstance beyond our control that prevents or delays the performance of our moving services. These events are typically unavoidable and not caused by either party’s actions. Examples of force majeure events include:

While 1st Choice Moving LV is committed to providing an exceptional service, we understand that disagreements may occasionally arise. This section outlines the process for resolving any disputes and the legal framework that will govern any conflicts that may occur.
Resolution Process
